The haldex control units are immediately above the ground, therefore, after time, become either partially or completely inoperable. Water or dirt gets into the module.

Faults will prove to be a non-functioning 4x4 system.

When diagnosing the car, it may show you 4x4/AWD faults for example:
002248 - Valve for clutch control (N373)
01324 - Control Module for All Wheel Drive 004 - No Signal/Communication
00003 - Control module faulty sporadic - 014
02249 - Sensor for Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature
01155 - Clutch - 003 - Mechanical Failure - Intermittent
