Technical Specifications
Product Description
This is a genuine used original Continental Haldex control unit with OEM number 0AY907554D, designed for 4th generation Haldex AWD systems used across Volkswagen Group vehicles. The module manages rear axle engagement, controls clutch pressure through the hydraulic system and communicates with ABS, ESP and engine management electronics.
What This Control Unit Does
- Monitors speed difference between front and rear axles
- Controls hydraulic pump pressure for rear clutch engagement
- Activates rear-wheel drive automatically when traction is required
- Communicates with ABS, ESP and engine management modules
- Manages the Haldex control valve N373 for clutch pressure regulation
Typical failures of the original controller can cause complete loss of AWD / 4WD, front-wheel-drive-only operation, poor traction on slippery surfaces, communication errors, N373 valve faults or ESP / ABS warning lights. This tested OEM replacement is intended to restore stable AWD operation in compatible vehicles.

Common Symptoms of a Faulty Module
A faulty Haldex control unit can trigger fault codes, communication problems and complete loss of rear-wheel engagement. Typical symptoms include:
-
00003– Control Module Defective -
00448– Haldex Clutch Pump Fault -
01324– All Wheel Drive Control Module: No Communication -
02248– Clutch Control Valve N373 Fault -
16347– EEPROM / Internal Controller Fault -
65535– Internal Control Module Memory Error - ESP / ABS warning lights on the dashboard
- Complete loss of AWD / 4WD or rear-wheel drive not engaging
- Shuddering in tight low-speed turns at full lock
Installation
Installation Notes
- Locate the Haldex control unit on the rear differential / rear axle assembly
- Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the old module
- Install the replacement unit and secure all mounting points properly
- Reconnect all electrical connectors and verify a secure fit
- In most cases no coding is required after installation
- If fitting a unit from an automatic / DSG vehicle into a manual gearbox car, perform Basic Settings in VCDS (22-AWD module, channel 20) to clear fault code 01315
- Perform a test drive and confirm proper AWD engagement
Recommended Service Items
- Change the Haldex oil and filter during replacement
- Check or replace the Haldex control valve N373 if faulty
- Inspect the rear wiring connector, harness and clutch pump
- Clear stored AWD, ABS and ESP related faults after installation
Why Haldex Control Units Fail
1. Water Ingress & Sealing Failure
Moisture and damaged sealing can affect the control unit housing and internal electronics, leading to corrosion, unstable communication and complete AWD malfunction.
2. Valve or Pump Related Faults
Failure of the Haldex control valve N373 or clutch pump can overload the AWD system and trigger recurring module-related diagnostic errors, engagement issues or loss of rear-wheel drive.
3. Internal Electronic Failure
EEPROM faults, internal memory errors and circuit-board wear can cause intermittent operation, no communication faults or complete loss of rear differential control.
4. Wiring or Power Supply Problems
Damaged wiring, poor terminal contact or unstable power supply can interrupt module operation and create misleading communication or actuator fault codes.
